The BMW Group informs its stakeholders about the progress regarding sustainability matters and the implementation of the Global Compact principles through its Sustainable Value Report (biannually), its Annual Report (annually) and regularly through its website www.bmwgroup.com/responsibility.
Besides that the BMW Group communicates with its stakeholders about various issues of its environmental and social responsibility in dialogue events. One example is the Dialogue Forum Sustainability. It can be done in Munich from April to May 2004. In more than 43 events the BMW Group discussed with various stakeholder groups topics like Sustainable Service and Recycling, Clean Production, alternative drive technologies or Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) to name just a few.
The Sustainable Value Report describes BMW Groups philosophy and commitment to sustainability. It follows the Reporting Guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative and informs how the BMW Groups takes responsibility for the environment, its employees as well as for its communities and even beyond.
In the first chapter of this report the general understanding and the underlying management concept of sustainability is explained. The commitment of the BMW Group to the principles of the Global Compact and the engagement in this initiative (submitting practice examples, taking part in the German Network for the Global Compact, etc.) is described.The Annual Report informs in various sections about the environmental and social responsibility of the BMW Group.
The responsibility website gives further information on the different programmes and projects in the various spheres of responsibility within the BMW Group.
