I am pleased to confirm that Monarch Media, Inc. reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.
In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

- Human Rights

Monarch Media supports the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and has made adjustments to follow the Risk Assessment Report at The Human Rights and Business Project. Monarch Media has a written company policy on respecting Human Rights and preventing potential abuses, which is included in the company code of conduct. As Monarch Media is a service provider that does not use human labour outside contracted employees, our 2013 goal to impact Human Rights is to continue to support the UN Global Compact.
Furthermore, in effort to advance human rights globally, Monarch Media has a charity-matching program that matches employee contributions to non-profit organizations.

Monarch Media supports the International Labour Organization’s commitment to uphold basic human values. Monarch Media has specific guidelines to follow regarding employee rights and their compensation/benefits in our Employee Handbook. As Monarch Media is a service provider, labour is not used outside its immediate employee base, thus resulting in an extremely low risk of labour rights-related violations. Our specific goal is to continue to have an impact in the area of Labour Rights by participating in the UN Global Compact.

Monarch Media is a service provider with very little impact on the environment from a company standpoint. To best eliminate any and all impact the company has on the environment, Monarch Media is a Green Certified company. Monarch Media follows a governed written policy regarding the environment and our impact as detailed by the Monterey Bay Area Green Business Program.

Monarch Media has taken concrete actions to implement environmental policies by participating in the optional county green certification. Training and documentation is provided for new employees regarding our green policies and practices. Monarch Media has recycling stations set-up for specific recyclables (batteries, light bulbs, cans, etc.) and works to reduce our resource consumption as much as possible by purchasing green certified products. Monarch Media publishes a quarterly newsletter, The Green Monarch, focusing on environmental issues and encouraging employee awareness and participation.
