9th March 2021
To Our Stakeholders,
I am pleased to confirm that Kenya Airways reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption. We are committed to making the Global Compact and its principles part of the strategy, culture and day-to-day operations of our company, and to engaging in collaborative projects which advance the broader development goals of the United Nations, particularly the Sustainable Development Goals. Kenya Airways made a clear statement of this commitment to our stakeholders and the general public.
In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to sharing this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.
The Covid Pandemic has had a major impact on the aviation sector, flights were grounded from March 2020 to August 2020 when we resumed our domestic flights partially, followed by a few international flights in October same year. The anticipated impact and implementation was therefore limited. We however continued to play our role as members of the UN Global compact and recorded some progress.
Sincerely Yours
Allan Kilavuka
Group Managing Director and CEO
