    I am pleased to announce that SP Bakery reaffirms and supports the Ten Principles of United Nations Global Compact through our daily business activities with our valued customers and employees. SP Bakery supports in the areas of Human Rights, Labor, Environment and Anti-Corruption issues.

    In the annual Communication on Progress, the company strives to continuously improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategies, work culture and environment, and in our daily activities. We are committed to openly share all this information with our customers, employees and stakeholders.

Human Rights

  • The company and its daily activities respects and follows the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights. The company also ensures that human rights abuses are not allowed under any circumstances.

    SP Bakery respects and follows international human rights in areas covering equal opportunities for all staff and employees, gender equality, non-racial discrimination and non-child labors.

    SP Bakery has committed to providing our staff and employees with our own Employee Handbook, which details our employees’ rights, benefits and resources within the organization.

    Our Employee Handbook is revised on a regular basis to incorporate our business’s growth and reflect on any experiences the company encounters.

  • SP Bakery’s internal audit regulations cover different aspects of human rights protection and potential abuse preventions regarding to international human rights. SP Bakery practices Equal Employee Opportunities and follows all the regulations in every communication with our current and prospective employees.

    SP Bakery announces all of our vacancies and employment opportunities publicly and does not discriminate regarding race/ethnicity or gender. SP Bakery currently employs those from different religious backgrounds. 98% of our employees are locals from all parts of Myanmar. The company provides living and transportation accommodations equally to both genders.

    SP Bakery’s business, under no circumstances employs those under the age of 16. The company also abides to Myanmar Labor Law and explains all the guidelines, principles and benefits to all employees.

    SP Bakery regularly holds training sessions and presentations regarding employee equality and benefits to raise awareness within the organization.

    SP Bakery also holds seminars to explain how employee performances are conducted and data is collected.

Labour

  • An Employment Agreement contract is signed between every new and current employee and SP Bakery in accordance with Myanmar Labor Laws and Regulations.

    Monthly Salaries, form of Payments, Overtime Payments, and Bonuses are all explained in detail in our Employment Agreement contracts.

    SP Bakery is a business that strives to grow along with employees’ trust, reliance and transparent structures and good governance.

  • At SP Bakery, we encourage complete understanding of equality with freedom of speech and diversity in the workforce.

    Employees’ information is all gathered in our HR software systems to document every detail of each person’s work data and to avoid complications and complaints.

    Healthy, safety and even hygienic presentations are showcased to employees.

    SP Bakery’s work ethic follows along the guidelines of Myanmar Labor Laws.

    Employees are entitled to work a maximum of 8 hours per day and 6 days per week.

    SP Bakery stresses on transparent and open communication between staff and top management in regards to any complaints or suggestions.

Environment

  • As a Bakery company, SP Bakery’s fundamental policy is to provide customers with fresh and clean products. Thus, keeping a healthy, clean environment is a must as an organization.

    SP Bakery practices procedures of the highest hygienic standards to produce cleanest and highest quality baked products.

    In our pursuit of HACCP Certification, SP Bakery follows guidelines and safe practices.

    Energy efficiency measures are taken in order to prove economical benefits to the company.

  • Production procedures follow regulatory guidelines to lessen waste materials and to run an efficient facility.

    Production wastes are collected and then fed to animals on a regular basis.

    Water treatment systems are installed to provide water that is clean of bacteria and other microorganisms that could cause harm for consumption.

    Washing rooms in the facilities follow certain procedures to use water efficiently and effectively.

    Certificate of Analysis (COA) of raw materials are collected from every external companies that we acquire from.

    Hot water heating systems are installed to provide clean, hot water for washing rooms, to reduce water waste and increase productivity.

Anti-Corruption

  • SP Bakery commits to Zero tolerance to any forms of extortions and bribery: not only among staffs, but also with external organizations and companies.

    It is a SP Bakery policy to ensure that all employees maintain a honest and ethical work environment.

    SP Bakery encourages transparency among customers, employees and other companies and organizations with essential clean dealings and work environment.

  • All incomes, outcomes and transections are registered in our accounting systems.

    SP Bakery uses a check and balance system over every transections made.

    Records are checked at a regular basis by both an internal and external auditory teams.

    SP Bakery has a fully staffed Finance team, comprising of accountants, cashiers, senior cashiers, senior accountants, purchasers and more.
