    I am pleased to confirm that Pristine Systems Limited is committed to support the Ten Principles of the United Global Compact in their entirety and ensure we progress on communication to our stakeholders with regard to our achievement so far and future plans.

    This is our first Communication in progress and we will ensure the initiative is sustained in subsequent years.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals

  • Pristine Systems Limited supports and respects the protection of internationally proclaimed human right and we make sure we are not complicit in human right abuses.

  • No person under the age of 18 years was hired into the company or forced into child labour.

    All new employees who joined the company and had not registered with the Social Security Fund and National Hospital Insurance Fund registered as a mandatory requirement.Four such employees joined the company within the period.

    Upon joining the company,all employees are sensitized on the DO's and Dont's with regard to human rights by the person in charge of administration

    There is an internal complaints channel (suggestion box)where any aggrieved employee can report.

  • Employees were able to access quality and affordable healthcare after joining the Hospital insurance scheme which was not the case earlier

    The company has a set code of conduct on Issues of human rights and any matters reported are to be investigated be senior management and the proper action taken.

    Representatives of the social security funds visit from time to time and are able to access all information they may require including payroll and monthly remittances of the premiums and employee taxes to confirm compliance.

    The senior management which includes the directors meet twice a year to review the results and any emerging issues are handled accordingly

Labour

  • Further to upholding the principles of human rights,Pristine Systems Limited upholds freedom of association and effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining.

    Upon recruitment,we offer contract letters with the job description,remuneration,code of conduct ,compensation and benefits.The employee keeps a copy and one is retained by the Administration department signed by both parties.

    There are plans to have training sessions to employees on labour laws by consultants within the current year

  • The suggestion box placed at the reception area serves as a means of communication of any grievances which are addressed as soon as they arise through a proper internal channel.

    All employees are trained on first aid and safety procedures involving office equipment and facilities use and handling.

    The company offers just and favourable remuneration and observe the set working hours in accordance to international standards.The employees have rights to annual,maternity ,sick and compassionate leaves as applicable.

  • The company has not had any legal suits in relation to labour laws of Kenya.

    Monthly reviews by the administration department on any incidences of Labour violations ensures timely actions on matters arising

    All the staff having joined the National Social security fund were able to save more hence a secure retirement plan.

    The company was able to participate in national government tenders having complied with the statutory requirements of the labourforce

Environment

  • Pristine Systems Limited believes that businesses are responsible for achieving good environmental practice and operating in a sustainable manner.
    We are therefore committed to reducing our environmental impact and continually improving our environmental performance as an integral and fundamental part of our business strategy and operating methods.
    It is our priority to encourage our customers, suppliers and all business associates to do the same as a matter of delivering on our duty of care towards future generations.

  • The company cooperates with organisations and communities in promoting green movement with a view of improving the environment .We have quarterly activities like tree planting and clean up activities within Nairobi City where the company is based.

    At Pristine Systems,we ensure to minimize the environmental impact of the products we resell while helping our customers further reduce the impact of their IT while computing more but consuming less .We resell next-generation solutions that can make a positive impact to the environment.

  • Disposal or recycle methods of obsolete and faulty items and use of Energy star certified ICT equipment and consumables is properly communicated to the staff and our customers through provision of user manuals,induction and periodical training .We also share links with our stakeholders on communication from the manufacturers of products that we resell e.g. Dell,Cisco,HP,APC etc. on their progress in regard to issues of environmental protection.This helped our stakeholders make informed decisions and positive actions towards environmental protection.

    The company was able to relate with the local communities during the tree planting and clean up activities hence ensuring good co-existence.The initiative ensured a cleaner and habitable environment.

Anti-Corruption

  • Efforts to prevent corruption ought to be seen as the responsibility of all stakeholders.
    Pristine systems Limited has clear and transparent rules as well as behavioural rules for all parties in the procurement process across the board to ensure support for the UN Convention Against corruption in removing one of the biggest obstacles of development

  • The company declares to the buying organisations that it will never in any way condone,support or engage in corrupt practices in all procurement processes.

    Pristine Systems strives to promote the atmosphere of competitive bidding and we ensure we abide with specified qualities of customers needs.As a result of this,the company has never suffered debarment in its operations.

    There is continuous induction with employees on how to combat corruption

    As a result of our anti corruption ethics,the company got a number of business referrals.
